How Do I Transfer Pictures or Videos Between My SGH-A257 (Magnet) Phone And My Computer?

Note: If the Bluetooth feature is currently active on the phone, USB communication between devices will not be available. To transfer files to or from the phone, turn off the Bluetooth functionality or click here for instructions.

Important!: Prior to connecting the USB cable to the handset, install the latest version of the Samsung PC Studio application. This application installs the necessary USB drivers onto your PC. For a free download of the New Samsung PC Studio, go to http://www.samsung.com/us/support.

WARNING: DO NOT DISCONNECT USB CABLE DURING THE MP3 FILE TRANSFER

To transfer Picture files, using the New Samsung PC Studio & a USB cable, to a PC follow the steps below:

1. Connect the USB cable to both the phone's Headset jack/Adapter jack & the PC's USB slot
• When successfully connected, the phone will show the connected icon  on the top of the display
2. The New Samsung PC Studio program will automatically appear on the PC
3. Click on the SGH-A257 icon  , located in the upper right corner, to open a box showing the handset's internal memory
4. Double click on the Graphics folder (Internal Memory) then double click on there the Downloaded Graphics folder

   

1. Click on the My Computer icon  , located in the upper left corner, to open a box showing the PC's  internal memory
2. Navigate to the PC's picture location or destination
3. Drag and Drop or Copy (or Cut) and Paste the pictures between the My Computer box and the SGH-A257 box or vice versa

       

4. After the successful transfer of the picture(s), click on OK in the Device Explorer or My Computer box
5. Now it is safe to disconnect the USB data cable from the two devices

To send a picture to an Email address follow the steps below:

1. From the standby screen, press the right soft key for Menu
2. Select Messaging (2)
3. Select Create Message (1)
4. Enter the Text Message, using the keypad
5. Press the OK key for Insert
6. Select Picture (1)
7. Select either My Photos (1) or Downloaded Graphics (2)
8. Highlight the image, using the navigation keys, then press the right soft key for Add
9. Press the right soft key for Send To
10. Enter the E-mail address, using the keypad
11. Press the right soft key to Send the Multimedia Message to the Recipient(s)

Tip: You can send a Multimedia Message to up to 10 Recipients
