Can I Assign MP3 Files As Ringtones On My SGH-A877 (Impression) Phone?
Yes, the SGH-A877 (Impression) handset provides the ability to playback MP3 files, assign them
as a contact ringtone, alarm tone or as the incoming call ringtone. The handset supports the following audio file types
as ringtones: MP3, MP4 / AAC, M4A, 3GP /
AAC, WMA and 3GP / AMR.
Note: Audio files less than 300 KB are treated as ringtones, whereas
audio files which are greater than 300 KB are considered as Music. You cannot
set an MP3 file as a ringtone if it is larger than 300 KB.
You can also purchase a variety of multimedia files, such as ringtones, graphics,
applications, multimedia contents, and so on from the WAP browser and download
them to your phone’s memory. The phone has embedded links to the WAP sites providing
you with download services, preset by your service provider.

Player includes support for Digital rights Management (DRM) which allows you
to play some purchased or subscription content. Copyright protections may prevent
some images, videos, music (including ringtones) and other content from being
copied, modified, transferred or forwarded.

To assign an MP3 file as the call ringtone, caller ringtone or alarm tone
follow the steps below:
- From the standby screen, press Menu
- Press My Stuff
- Press Audio
- Press either Tones or Music,
to view the contents
- Press the desired
MP3 file to play it
- Press Set as
- Press one of the following:
- Call Ringtone: To set the MP3 as the current profile's Ringtone
- Caller Ringtone
- Press Search Contact
- Press the desired Contact
- Press Save to assign the MP3 file as
the Caller Ringtone
- Alarm Tone
- Press the desired Alarm
- Presson Save to assign the MP3 file as
the Alarm Tone
